Daily Rituals

Posted in - Books on February 25th 2014 2 Comments

I started reading this book and it intrigued me on how people spend their day. The book is fascinating because it gives you a window into what peoples Daily Rituals entail.

I got to thinking of how I spend my day. It is definitely not at the 100% level I would want it to be. However I am not laying on the couchin a bathrobe glued to the tube and eating bon bons all day.  I do not feel that I am a total loser. I do know that I am doing a couple things right.

My day starts at six am when I wake up with my husband for the day. I make us coffee and a protein shake. Then I write in my Five-Minute Journal. It helps start my day out on a positive note. Next I read a little bit with my husband before he goes off to work. Soon after I check my Amazon E bay and Craigslist account to see if I hit the jackpot. Maybe I sold that expensive item that Id  been wanting to get rid of.  Following that if I have sold and item I package it head out get my Circle K coffee and ship it off to the post office.

Our favorite coffee to make in the morning.

The rest of the day is not always planned. I find it hard for me to sit down and write on a schedule. Sometimes I have to throw myself onto the desk and force myself to write. Even if it is a giant chicken-scratch mess. My procrastination habits are Pinterest Twitter Facebook looking up decorating ideas and throw in a movie that I probably have memorized by now.

Okay so there are some habits I want to get rid of. However I am not ready to take an oath and pledge that I will be structured from sun up till sun down. I am willing to put in some elbow grease and push myself to be greater.

What does your typical day consist of?

Tim Ferris watched the James Bond movie every night in the background while he wrote one of his 4 hour books.
