Teleport me back to 1940’s Glamour
I want to walk into a beautiful night club‚ with Nat “King” Cole singing and playing‚ “Nature Boy“ while his beautiful voice engulfs the room. The scene is set with men wearing suits‚ women wearing elegant gowns‚and both slow dancing to the angelic sound of the artist’s voice. The room is filled with couple’s dancing the night away in a lovely‚ fancy‚ hotel hall. There is an abundance of glamour and romance swirling the room. I wish I could teleport back in time‚ wearing a satin gown‚ letting the music consume me as Nat “King” Cole kills it on the piano.
An example of a perfect moment like this‚ is in the movie The Notebook. Here‚ displayed in the scene‚ in a glamorous era‚ the man charmingly asking for her hand in marriage.
I love her satin gown‚ beautiful makeup‚ and dashing hair.
Rita Hayworth‚ who is also known for her glamorous style‚ was the epitome of 1940’s glamour and elegance. As one can see‚ she is wearing her famous dress in the film‚ Gilda. The movie was made in 1946‚ and the picture displays her iconic style and allure.
They called it the Golden Age and rightly so. It was an age of Hollywood glamour with jazz‚ big band‚ and swing music. There were tons of fancy places to get dolled up on a night out on the town. I love the glitz and glam of this era. I will have to plan one of my own fabulous 1940’s parties soon.

I think I would go forward in future given the choice. No decade speaks to me. There is quite a bit of romance involved in the past but I think I would be bogged down by the day to day of living without all of the conveniences I have grown so accustomed to.
Who knows maybe the forties would be good for me? I just look at the past and think how bored I would be. So bratty on my part.

Awesome post‚ being a vintage jewelry dealer‚ I would say
the art deco area 20’s the designs were amazing and the times
were wild. I would however want it to be before the stock
market crash =)

I don’t know which decade I would choose if I could go back in time‚ but for this moment‚ I would go to the 40’s because you made it look so amazing! I have always loved the scenes in old movies where they go to dinner clubs with a full band and have music and dancing and everybody wears formal clothes!

Since we are being honest (thanks Chandler for leading the way)‚ I will just say what I think. I don’t want to have to live in the past unless I am rich. I used to say I would love to live in Jane Austin’s time‚ or during Louis IV reign. Then‚ it came to me that I could get sent back in time and be a serf‚ or a tenant farmer. No guarantee I would be in the french court. In summary‚ I would check on the how many qualifications I could put on the time travel before I committed.
