Everything Fall

Posted in - Personal Journey on September 29th 2015 1 Comments

It is official. Fall is here. Fall is one of my favorite seasons because it is cooling down and the intense humidity that sometimes sucks the life out of you is finally going away. I get to eat a little more instead of constantly watching my nutrition. When it is ninety degrees outside I do not want to eat a creamy tomato soup. Now that it is getting colder out I can wear long sleeves and sweaters. I get to eat all the hearty food I want. Well not to the point that I put myself into a food coma. However I cant turn down a delicious piece of pumpkin or apple pie.

This is also the time of the year when all the Oscar worthy movies come to the box office. I just saw Black Mass which is about the gangster Whitey Bulger. You forget you are watching Johnny Depp and only see the character. That is how well he did in this role. I would recommend this movie if you are into gangster shoot them up films and movies based on true stories. You can find the trailer at youtube.com.

Halloween is approaching and I love to watch a scary movie around this time. The visit just came out which is about scary grandparents who turn crazy and torture their family. I know scary movies are not for everyone. I have been trying to get my husband to go to one for years. I think he would be scarred for life if he watched one. You can decide for yourself if you are up for it or not. Just make sure you sleep with the light on that night. You can find the trailer at youtube.com.

I get to burn more candles which is great for me because my dog has legendary gas. When Ari lets one loose it is like a bomb went off in our house. I dont know how a smell that bad could make you pass out could come from such a little dog body.

Fall is a great time to curl up and read a book. One book I am currently reading is My Fight/Your Fight by Ronda Rousey. She is a MMA fighter who talks about her challenges throughout her success and life in general. It is inspiring and makes me want to kick butt in life. She is a strong woman who never gives up even when she May lose a fight. If you need some encouragement in your life or motivation this is the book for you.  You can find this book at Amazon.com .

Fall is the perfect time in Nashville to visit a farm feed animals be outside in beautiful middle Tennessee with the leaves changing and go to fall parties with friends and family.

This picture was taken at a beautiful farm in FranklinTennessee for a fund raiser I was attending to help refugees acclimate to America. These beautiful horses were friendly and slobbered food out of my hand like a vacuum cleaner.

A few other pictures I took at this party are of the beautiful barn and landscape.

Here is a picture of their farm and I felt I was on a resort. You have to go out to a farm event or festival and be immersed with nature and farm animals.

IMG_20150924_181156This a great time of year to have fun with decorating your home in fall decor. My Mother in law already got a head start on her decorations. You could do a fall vegetable display on your kitchen table like in this picture here with a tasteful table runner. I love this idea.

My Mother in law bought these cute decorative boxes from a garage sale and they look brand new. Someone painted this fall inspired picture on the top. It is creative and who doesnt love finding a fabulous item for an in-expensive price.

Fall is my favorite time of the year though I dont like how the days get shorter. In the summertime in Boise it gets dark around 9:30 but at my familys place in Montana it doesnt get fully dark until 10:30 and then it gets light about 4:30 in the morning. I love those long days of summer but the crispness of fall and the slant of the light is wonderful. Lucky you too to be down South. I hope you get to see some great color. I took a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway both years I lived in NC and loved every minute of it. So much spectacular color!
