My condo is 800 square feet. Some May think that this size is right up their alley and others May think this space is too small. When having smaller spaces to work with you get creative and figure out were you can put storage. As you can see in my living room the couch is against the wall so that there is a long walk. It makes the room look bigger. The little brown coffee table opens and you have room to put storage in. It is also a foot rest. When you turn it over it has a cushion on top of it. All the items in this picture I bought from Lazy Boy. Now I judged Lazy Boy hard at first. When I thought of Lazy Boy I thought of my Grandpas big ugly checkered couch. My husband talked me into going in and looking at Lazy Boy. When I got to the show room I was impressed with some of the furniture on the floor.  Alot of the furniture didnt look like it belonged in the 1980s. When you buy from Lazy Boy you get a free designer to come over to your house and help you figure out what you want. She helped lay out our living room and show us pictures of furniture we could pick out. After we picked our items out we came back to the store and she showed us a visual slide show on the computer of what our room would look like. She gave us three different options and this is the one we picked. We felt like one of those couples who are on one of those HGTV shows. We had to wait five weeks for our furniture to come but it when it arrived it was a over-whelming surprise. They delivered everything and put all the pieces where we wanted them.

This next picture is of our front door walkway. We wanted a piece of furniture that was thin enough to fit along the wall and not take up the whole hallway. We still have four draws to put our keys dog chain books and whatever else we need. The mirror we found at Costco cost only a hundred dollars. The dark wood hallway piece was bought from Lazy Boy.

The desk is purchased from Lazy Boy and my husband and I put it behind the couch because that was the best place to put it to balance the room out. The piece is not huge and there is still a ton of walkway to the kitchen on the left. I love the dark wood with the retro feel it has. The lamp on the left also gives for a fun look to the room and one can have light while working at the desk or looking at the computer. The chair is from our kitchen and we are going to paint it to match the color and reupholster the chair. I will share that project at a later date when it is finished.  The television is mounted on the wall to give more room to the area. Some people dont like the television above the fire place. We love it because it is right in front of the couch. We can curl up watch our favorite movies and have a fire going in the fire place.

We just put these hanging shelves up from Ikea which are non-expensive. We still need to decorate it but this gives another option for storage or to put books and photos on display. We can also put a lamp behind the chair and make it a reading nook.  It frees up the wall behind the chair encase we want to put a piece of art there.20150114_125630

We only have one bedroom so it was important for us to find a bed frame that had extra drawers in it to have more space to put clothes in.  We bought this wood sleigh bed with the two slide in drawers for five hundred dollars at a furniture store in Nashville. The walls are painted grey so I decided to go with a purple themed bedspread. The purple evens out the grey tones in the room and it makes for a lovely combination.  We are planning to decorate the walls soon.

This room was an open patio before. The old owner enclosed the space put sound proof windows in a fan fixture a cute swing to enjoy your morning coffee with and there is a walk in closet behind the swing for more storage. This made another room for us to enjoy in the condo and made the place look spacious. There is a door that shuts to the patio and we plan on putting curtains up to separate the living room from the sun room. One can also put a blow up mattress in this room and have an out of town guests stay the night if need be.

I hope you enjoyed what I have done with our tiny but soothing condo. How do you decorate small spaces or your home? I always love to hear others ideas! Have a power win week!

Your place is looking really cute. My three-bedroom house is about 1200 square feet and one of the bedrooms is totally empty now. I think the bigger the house the more things we tend to collect jut to fill that space. Then again I hope to own a tiny house someday so even as I read this I am thinking about things I can get rid of for when that time comes 😉

Jeri that is awesome! I want one of those tiny houses that have the wheels on them so you can plant them any where you want. You could travel and bring your home with you. I think it is neat! =)

You have a really nice place. It really helps to know what you want to do with the small space you have. If you know what you want you can make the most out of your space.

Your place is wonderful and cozy. I like how you maximize your space by using the right sized furniture and i also like your hallway table. I appreciate its presence and the style but it doesnt consume much space. Thanks for sharing your home.
